Progressive Turnout Project Congratulates Manka Dhingra on Victory in Washington State Senate Special Election
Progressive Turnout Project Executive Director Alex Morgan released the following statement after Manka Dhingra’s victory in Washington Legislative District 45:
“Tonight in Redmond, Democrats won a key legislative victory that will result in real, meaningful change for people across the Evergreen state.”
“Manka Dhingra is a breath of fresh air with a proven track record of standing up for domestic violence victims and marginalized communities. She will be a true progressive voice who will stand up for all Washingtonians when she arrives in Olympia.”
“In addition to her qualifications, Manka ran an incredible grassroots campaign that the progressive community will need to replicate across the country in order to win in 2018. We are inspired by her strong field effort and encourage Democratic candidates to follow her lead next year.”
Dhingra’s victory gives Democrats control of the Washington State Senate and gives west coast states the opportunity to lead the charge against Donald Trump with Democrats now controlling all state legislative bodies in California, Oregon, and Washington.
